Aimed at parents teaching their children maths at home during the COVID19 pandemic, the information design strategy of Maths 101 needed to balance several factors: authority vs approachability, parents vs children, simplicity vs complexity. I brought my own experience as an educator and visual communicator in designing this book and used elements of play throughout the imagery and typography. I was also blessed to work with an author who was not only an authority on maths, but also a comedian whose sense of humour fortunately matched with mine.
The devil is always in the detail: even the folios of this book were designed as fractions.
